What is Matcha?

Matcha is the green tea leaf that is slowly ground into powder. The plants are kept in the shade the last two weeks before collecting the leaves. This way the plant is encouraged to grow tender, fresh shoots that will have a bright green color. Also the bitters will be skipped because of this process, leaving you with a tasty round drink!

Yes, it is true.. Matcha is super healthy, because you are consuming the whole leaf instead of making an infusion. Matcha contains a lot of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and L-theanine which has a calming effect and makes you more focussed. In combination with the caffeine ,you will experience a nice flow of energy that will last up to 6 hours. Unlike coffee where the rush peaks. There is more caffeine than a cup of tea, but less than a coffee in Matcha.
